Cozy and intriguing: How to dress in oversized clothes

My shopping substitute via virtual #styleinspiration continues!

I’ve been looking at many beautiful pictures of people in oversized and bulky clothes, and I am also close friends with my little imperfections, who are happier dressed in comfortable bulky clothes.

So, let’s chat about this fun style!

A bulky style can create balance, and is very effective to create focus, so we can just make people look where we want attention. Very useful!

Let’s say I’m trying to balance my slightly wider hips and at the same time, I like that delicate line of my shoulders, So, to balance the width of the hips, and draw attention to my shoulders, I’d pick bulky sweater to wear with tight pants or pencil skirt. And if that sweater has wide neckline or cut-outs showing my somewhat fragile shoulder, it will create that attention, where I want it. So, don’t hide in oversized clothes, just make your little imperfections comfy and give others something intriguing for others to look at!

Here are two pretty pictures to show how it works.

Pink oversized dress:

- Soft glowing material is in beautiful balance on her warm-toned skin!

We don’t see (and don’t suspect) any imperfections below the dress neck line - too busy focusing on her delicate shoulder line so nicely off-set in this oversized and flowing dress.

- Some extra intriguing contrast of this soft romantic dress to naughty lipstick and bare skin certainly grabs attention!

Yellow sweat suit :

- Her shoulders and hips are nicely balanced. Maybe her hips are actually wider than the shoulders - yet the oversized sweater is wider than the hips and cropped, so we’re busy being impressed by her well-built waist instead!

- Now, focus is surely her ankles! I doubt she’d play basketball in these boots, yet the closely fitted style, change of color, accented pointed toe and skinny heel all suggest that these feet just must have pretty shapely legs above them.

Tell me what you’d like to talk about next!
